Active Utilities for iMail Server

Active Utilities for IMail Server allow IMail Administrators (or web users) to create user accounts on the fly and it also adds a few administrative features to the IMail experience. This software component requires that the external database be used with IMail and that extra fields be added to this database. Features include:

IMailUtils Features

Sign-up new users on the fly

Send welcome message to new users (customizable message)

Email a forgotten password to a user with no admin intervention

AdminUtils Features

Find potentially vulgar username choices via a web interface (customizable dictionary of 'vulgar' words)

Find orphan accounts via a web interface (customizable orphan period)

Disable, Enable, and Delete accounts via a simple web interface

Lookup User Passwords via a web interface

Change a User's password via a web interface

ASP SMTP Component**

* The requirements as listed are provided based on testing. Using this component in a different environment can be done with a little creativity and ASP scripting knowledge. O'Reilly's Web Site Professional could be used instead of IIS 4.0 with some configuration changes, but I will NOT support O'Reilly's Web Site Professional as I do not run it myself. An earlier version of MDAC may also be used, but the sample scripts will need to be modified.
** This product currently supports 4 mainstream SMTP Components. ABMailer(AKA ActiveX Mailman), Persits ASPEmail, ServerObjects ASPMail, and JMail. If you do NOT use one of these components, but would like support added for the component you do use please contact spouliot@scpsoftware.net.
